Working together is the name of the game with charitable gift planning and financial professionals. Gift Planners are called upon to use their astute listening skills, to share in their donors’ passions and inspire them.  But Gift Planners work best with a team.

Donors rely on financial advisors such as accountants, attorneys and financial planners to assist them with their financial and gift planning. Join us as we provide not only practical information about how build a team that makes sure your prospect’s needs are fully served, but also how to break the ice about giving, to help donors understand what moves them. The Conference also provides a good technical understanding of planned giving concepts.

With approximately 97% of donations coming from 3% of the donors, the need for more precision in our conversations and interactions with donors has never been more critical.

Research of high net worth individuals show that nearly one third would be more likely to choose an advisor who is knowledgeable about charitable giving (US Trust Survey, “The Philanthropic Conversation,” 2013). Likewise, charitable gift planners often see their donors’ plans die when their financial team advises against a contribution.

Join us as we expand our ability to better serve our clients/supporters.

Target Audiences

Gift planning, major gift, development and financial professionals will benefit from attending. Board members of charities would also benefit.

Multi-Generational Generosity: The Challenges and Opportunities of Teaching the Next Generation to Give
When donors' children pick up where they left off in support of a worthy cause, they can do a lot of good. But there's no guarantee that this next generation will share the same values, passion, or capacity for giving. Moderator George Bailey will seek insights regarding these issues from the following panel members: Rebecca Rothey, Vice President of Development and Senior Philanthropic Advisor for the Greater Washington Community Foundation; Josh Tolley, Nationally Syndicated Talk-Show Host and Lead Mechanic, Master Strategist, and Opportunity Snatcher for Purple Monkey Garage; and Whitney M. Kenter, Partner and Managing Member of Matter Family Office.
