ABOUT ABOUT

Annual Legal Update (“Ask Larry”)
Presented by:
Larry Katzenstein
Partner
Thompson Coburn LLP

Continuing the Council’s holiday luncheon tradition, Larry Katzenstein will share his insights with a legal update on issues affecting nonprofits and donors, specifically the 2017 and 2018 tax law changes. As in the past, following his update he will entertain questions (aka, “Ask Larry”), which is a prime opportunity to tap into his expertise. Larry enables planned giving success at countless institutions by serving their needs through wise counsel and volunteer service. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the latest legal news and to take away sage guidance for your clients, donors, and planned giving programs.

Larry Katzenstein is a nationally recognized authority on estate planning and charitable gift planning, and a longstanding champion of the Council. He is a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP; his practice concentrates on estate planning and charitable giving, and representation of tax-exempt organizations. Larry is a frequent speaker on gift planning across the nation, and annual anchor presenter for several American Bar Association-American Law Institute estate planning programs. Larry also speaks at many national tax institutes and nonprofit organizations to share his expertise in tax law on charitable gifts. He graduated from Harvard School of Law, and is an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law, where he teaches both estate and gift taxation, and fiduciary income taxation classes.
